Development of a Happy Workplace

 

  • 1.The Company has adopted employee work rules and implemented a pension scheme in accordance with the relevant labor laws and regulations to protect the legal rights of employees. An Employee Welfare Committee has also been established to manage employee benefits.

  • 2.The Company provides employees with a safe working environment as well as safety and health training. These help to prevent occupational injuries by reducing the risks to employee safety and health. Employees are also enrolled in labor, health and group insurance schemes. Health examination organizations are engaged to conduct employee health examinations on a regular basis.
  •  
  • 3.Our company believes that employees with sound physical and mental health can achieve high efficiency and high-quality work performance. Therefore, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment. Based on resolutions passed in labor-management meetings, the company conducts employee health check-ups every two years. To foster a friendly and safe workplace, the HR Department sends out a monthly email titled “Health Education Corner” to share the latest health and wellness information with employees.
  • Starting from September 1, 2024, we have engaged Hengle Health Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Taipei area) and China Medical University Beigang Hospital (Yunlin area) to provide on-site occupational health services. These services include one-on-one health consultations for employees whose health check-up results show abnormal values (higher or lower than normal, especially concerning obesity and chronic conditions such as the “three highs”—high blood sugar, high blood lipids, and high blood pressure) or who have other special needs.
  • As of March 31, 2025, a total of 83 health consultations have been provided. On-site medical staff continue to monitor employees’ health data, and significant improvements have been observed.

 

  • 4.In terms of physical health, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, employee health checkups are conducted every two years to help employees better understand their health status and acquire knowledge and methods for self-health management.

  • 5.The company provides employees with a work environment that ensures equality, equal rights, and freedom from discrimination and harassment.

  • 6.The company maintains open communication channels for employees. Employees have access to information and opportunities to express opinions regarding the company’s operations, management, and decision-making plans.

  • 7.rom January to March 2025, the Investor Relations Department conducted a questionnaire survey to analyze material issues identified between January 1 and December 31, 2024, across economic, environmental, and social dimensions affecting the company. This process incorporated the needs and expectations of stakeholders (including employees), assessed the importance of various issues to different stakeholders, and collected feedback and suggestions. The goal is to ensure alignment between company strategies and stakeholder expectations. The top ten issues, analysis results, and improvement measures will be disclosed in the Sustainability Report.

  • 8.The company regularly conducts awareness campaigns and training sessions on personal data protection, generally every six months. These activities are organized by the company’s Legal Department.

9.Employee Benefits and Implementation

The Articles of Incorporation stipulate that, as an incentive for employees and the management team, after offsetting any accumulated losses from the current year’s pre-tax profits before the allocation of employee and director remuneration, if there remains a surplus, no less than two percent (2%) shall be appropriated for employee compensation, and no more than two percent (2%) shall be appropriated for director compensation. Of the total amount allocated for employee compensation, sixty percent (60%) shall be distributed to rank-and-file employees.

 

10.Establishing Effective Career Development Training Programs for Employees

  •     *Through new employee evaluations and annual performance appraisal mechanisms, we regularly assess employee development plans and design related training courses.

  •     *Based on functional development needs (including onboarding training, professional development, and managerial training), we provide various professional on-the-job training programs to cultivate comprehensive expertise.

11.Pension Scheme and Implementation

The Group’s pension schemes are based on the local laws and regulations at each company location.
  • For companies within the Republic of China: 
    Applicability under "Article 8 of Labor Pension Act":

    Custodian

      Held with Bank of Taiwan in the name of Labor Pension Fund Supervisory Committee.

    Contributions are made to employees' personal accounts under the Bureau of Labor Insurance.

    Retirement criteria

    Employees who satisfy any of the following requirements stated in Article 53 of "Labor Standards Act" may apply for voluntary retirement:
    I. Those who have worked for over 15 years and are at least 55 years old.
    II. Those who have worked for over 25 years.
    III. Those who have worked for over 10 years and are at least 60 years old.

    Pension is paid in one lump-sum according to Article 55 of "Labor Standards Act" (or over a number of instalments subject to approval by the authority)

     

    • Employees may apply to collect pension according to Article 24 of the "Labor Pension Act" upon reaching the age of 60:
      1. Employees having completed 15 years of service or above may choose to collect pension on a monthly or one-time basis.
      2. Employees having completed less than 15 years of service may collect pension on a one-time basis.
    • Employees below the age of 60 but having completed 15 years of service and satisfied the conditions mentioned in Article 24-2 of "Labor Pension Act" may choose to collect pension on a monthly or one-time basis. However, employees having completed less than 15 years of service may only collect pension on a one-time basis.
  • For companies within China: 
    The Company makes employee endowment insurance contributions in accordance with the local laws and regulations.

  • 12.Agreements between labor and management, as well as measures to safeguard various employee rights.

  • 13.All Company regulations are based on the Labor Standards Act and two-way communication with employees is emphasized. There has been no major labor disputes requiring arbitration to date but the Company will continue to strengthen communication and coordination between employees and the management. Employee benefits will also be enhanced as much as possible to promote more harmonious employer-employee relations and minimize the chance of labor disputes.

  • 14.Working Environment and Personal Protection for Employees

  • .The Company sets great store by a clean and comfortable working environment. Employee safety at work is emphasized as well. Safety measures include access control, building security, surveillance cameras, and floor restrictions on elevators. Benefits that help employees live a settled life are also used to build a relationship based on mutual trust and support.

  • .Disinfection of common areas and fire drills are carried out every year. Safety & health education is conducted on an ad hoc basis. Annual fire safety inspections are also conducted.

  • .Prospective employees undergo physical examinations in accordance with the “Occupational Safety and Health Act.” Employees also undergo regular general health exams. The data is then compiled by human resources units to check on employees’ well-being at appropriate times to emphasize the importance of employee health to the Company.
